Diversity and Inclusion

At Healthcare Ireland our mission is to provide excellent care to our residents in addition to being a leading employer in Northern Ireland.

We believe that the diversity of our workforce, and the inclusive approach we take to recruitment and engagement are key in achieving these things.

We are committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in addition to fostering a culture that actively values difference. We recognise that people from different backgrounds and experience can bring valuable insights to the workplace and enhance the way we work.

Healthcare Ireland is committed to the fundamental human rights of our team and the people in our care by ensuring that our team treat everyone they come into contact with (colleagues, residents, relatives and visitors) with respect and dignity.

Healthcare Ireland proactively tackles discrimination and further aims to ensure that no individual or group is directly or indirectly discriminated against for any reason, with regard to employment or in the accessing or receiving of its services.

OUR COMMITMENT

We believe that diversity is recognising difference and valuing the uniqueness of each individual. All individuals employed by Healthcare Ireland should be treated with respect.

We believe that to be diverse we should represent the community of Health and Social Care professionals in Northern Ireland.

We believe that our workforce should be equipped to support our diversity commitment in order to ensure that this is the case we will provide regular diversity and inclusion training.

We believe that inclusion is making a space for diversity in the workplace, ensuring all employees feel valued and heard.

We believe all members of staff should be held to account on these values. Any actions which oppose these values will be addressed quickly and in line with the disciplinary procedure.

We commit to holding a quarterly Employee Forum, to elevate the voices of the our employees at Healthcare Ireland and to work towards greater inclusion and diversity.
